Must-haves for Homeowners

My life revolves around homes. Buying them, selling them and also living in them. I’m always in search of different ways to make life at home better, happier and easier. These products have all improved my home life in one way or another and I hope you feel the same way!

Amazon Prime Membership

There is no reason why any of you should be spending your precious evening and weekend hours running errands. Sign up for Amazon Prime immediately if you haven’t already. Receive free two-day shipping on millions of prime items, unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs, instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows and read free books each month through Kindle First and the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library. I find that the prices usually can’t be beat, and if they can my time is worth the extra few dollars.

Mohu Leaf HDTV Antenna

Cable is so 1990. Cut the cable cord, save $60+ a month and still get to watch your favorite shows with the Mohu Leaf. We have two in our home and still enjoy most network shows while watching the rest through Amazon Prime and our Netflix subscription. The Leaf is sleek so the aesthetics of your home won’t have to suffer!

Woolzies Dryer Balls

I was looking for a morenatural alternative to dryer sheets when I stumbled upon Woolzies. These 100% natural wool balls last for 1000 loads of laundry, have no chemicals, reduce static (just as well as dryer sheets in my experience) and also reduce drying time by 25-40%. If you are still craving that dryer sheet scent on your laundry just add a few drops of essential oil to the balls and throw them back in the dryer on a cool cycle.

3M Command Hooks

I bought a package of these and now use them all over my home. If you are renting they are a great way to install hooks without worrying about damaging the walls. Simply use the double sided tape and hold the hook on the wall for a minute or so and you have an extremely secure storage or organization solution. I have used them to utilize walls space in my closet by hanging purses, added more hanging space on the back of our coat closet door, organized our kitchen and also hung cleaning supplies like our broom and dust pan as well.

Nature’s Way Coconut Oil

When looking for coconut oil you want a product that is organic, virgin, and cold pressed. Trader Joe’s is another brand that is a good product for the price. Just a few of the endless uses for coconut oil: It can be taken as a supplement, can be added to salads or smoothies, used in place of butter or margarine, used as moisturizing lotion or even applied to hair as a deep conditioner before washing or to smooth it after washing!

Bag Balm

If you’re a homeowner, chances are you are cleaning, washing, scrubbing, painting, sanding etc – and your hands take a beating. I am a huge fan of Bag Balm. I try to use a little every time I wash dishes and then a little extra before I go to bed at night. It’s a little greasy at first but, after absorbing into the skin, leaves your hands feeling like silk! Keep a can next to your kitchen sink and in the bathrooms!
