Real Life Renovation - Our Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

I actually don’t watch the HGTV Renovation shows unless I’m stuck in a doctor’s office and they are on. I am constantly frustrated by the way they discuss financing on the shows. It’s as if all of the buyers have a suitcase full of cash - their budget. Then they have free-reign to spend “their budget” on the house or renovations. Maybe you do have a suitcase full of cash. If so, that’s great. But most of my clients are taking out a mortgage and therefore the financing of a renovation is more complex.

We recently put an addition on the back of our house and renovated our kitchen and opened up the space into our dining room. We did not have the suitcase of money and had to finance the renovation.
